Training

Officer Training

All certified training classes are conducted by a state-certified trainer and include classroom and practical experience. Classes have mandatory attendance and skills testing requirements for successful completion. The certified trainer tracks attendance and administers testing. Successful completion of a training course is documented by a certificate, a copy of which is placed in the employee’s file.

Records and Reporting

Guards are trained in procedures relevant to detailed record-keeping and reporting, including but not limited to use of log books and proper incident-reporting.

Basic Skills

Guards are trained to identify potential threats and risk situations, and learn proper responses to diffuse real and potential confrontations. They also learn public relations skills to better interact with clients’ staff and customers.

Manager-Observed OJT

Guards are given one-on-one on-the-job training by a member of U.S. Protection’s Operations Management. The manager and guard work in tandem as the guard demonstrates the ability and knowledge required to fulfill the post orders specific to his or her assignment.
